A testimonial to Corrine Bressler
Corrine is a very involved and encouraging provider.
She teaches preschool to all of the children in her care at a level that is comfortable to them. She allows the kids to learn and grow at a pace that is their own.
She opens her home and her heart to children and their families. She makes everyone feel loved and wanted.
It is important to her that the children thrive and grow and are ready for school.
We are all blessed to have her in our lives.
Thank you.

A testimonial to Daphne Hart, Happy Harts Daycare
Our daycare provider is Ms. Daphne Hart (Happy Harts Daycare). My husband and I thank God every day that He brought us Ms. Daphne. We had our son (Q'Maree) in January and April 16, 2008 I had to go back to work. By the end of the day Daphne had called me and sent me pictures (to me that is a dedicated provider). To make a long story short, she started out as Q'Maree's daycare provider but is now his godmother. He loves his Ms. Da (as he calls her) to pieces. As soon as we pull up in the morning he starts calling her name and she is there to greet him with hugs and kisses. Often in the afternoons when I go to pick him up I get tears of joy in my eyes because he cries to stay with her. That shows the love and attention is above and beyond just a daycare business. Happy Harts has become our family and we will continue to thank God everyday for uniting us with the Hart family. God bless.

A testimonial to Joslyn
As the mother of a special needs teen, finding and keeping a respite provider becomes a study in finding needles in haystacks.
I am blessed that I have found a woman who loves children of all abilities and has dedicated her life to supporting parents and giving them the chance to breath again. I thank God for her.

A testimonial to Lisa Herman
I moved to Oregon about 2 years ago, when I got married to my husband Tim. Just after that I found out that I was pregnant with my daughter Madison. I had to to start a new job, move, and be a new mom all at once. Madison is now 13 months old. Our daycare provider Lisa has been great! Madison has been cared by Lisa since she was 10 weeks old and she is always happy and excited to be with Lisa, which makes me at ease. I know she is with someone who cares about her as much as I do. One less worry during all the transistion and stress that we are going through starting our new life. I can't thank Lisa enough for the wonderful care and attention she has given Madison.

A testimonial to Lisa
Our childcare provider is named Lisa. She has been a blessing straight from God. We live in Pennsylvania and ALL of our family lives in Illinois. We were uncertain of where to sent our son after I had to return to work. We approached our, across the street, neighbor about watching Caleb. She agreed and we have been thanking our lucky stars ever since. She gives him the kind of attention and nurturing care that makes me completely confident in leaving my most precious gift with her. It is obvious our son adores her and he looks for her when we are out and will run to her when we are at a neighborhood function. Lisa helps Caleb interact with the other children in the neighborhood during the day and teaches him little things that are helping him grow and develop. We are so blessed to have her in his life and we wanted to say, Thank you Lisa.

Please add my wife to your mailing list and organization. She is a wonderful licensed Daycare provider, who has worked very hard for 13 years in this profession. She has help raise many children in our home and has added her loving touch to many families and their children. I would love for her to be apart of your support organization and really feel appreciated for her hard work, love and dedication. Thank you.

Thank you so much for all you do each and everyday. Without your continued support, care, and time - many parents could not go to work with such ease in there minds. I know I do each and everyday (even more so as a single parent). Thank you again! And Happy Provider Appreciation Day!!

A testimonial to Yvonne M. Jackson
Our daycare provider is Yvonne M. Jackson of Clinton, MD. When faced with the "where do I find the best provider?"question we were blessed to receive a referral for "Momma Jack." She by far is an extraordinary provider that truly loves what she does and gives the best individual care and attention to each of her eight attendees. She provides them with a quality education which includes a well rounded balance of classroom and field trip experiences. Truly she is a provider well worthy of her Appreciation Day. The biggest problem we face on a daily bases is convincing our children to leave her care and go home with us for the evening and or weekend! On behalf of each parent with a child in her care we say "hats off and a big hooray" for a job well done. May God continue to bless you as you shine through the lives of our children. A million thanks to you!

A testimonial to Renie and Adam Cohen, Hickory Dickory Daycare
Our Childcare providers are Renie and Adam Cohen. They are a husband and wife team, with never ending energy and drive. They take wonderful care of our daughter Cydney. Hickory Dickory Daycare is more like a family, than a Daycare. Each morning when I drop my daughter off, I don't want to leave, because I know how much fun she will be having. (Half the time I can't get out of the driveway, as I have become friendly with the other Moms, and enjoy talking with them so very much, and that's after talking with Renie and Adam. It's amazing I make it to work at all!) Cydney of course can't wait to play with her friends, Nini (Renie), Adam and Tiffany, too! They have enriched her life so much, we see the obvious signs on a daily basis! She is just thriving in their motivated, creative and fun environment. Renie and Adam's motto must be togetherness, as they plan trips for the families to take together, like pumpkin picking in the fall, and holiday celebrations year round. Each child's birthday is celebrated at Daycare with a special cake, baked by Nini and the children, parents invited, even my Mom came to Cydney's! They have an elaborate graduation ceremony/year end celebration for all with great food, pony rides, live entertainment, etc. They send us pictures of Cydney all of the time, just in case we forgot to take them ourselves, or didn't have the time! We never feel like we've missed a minute with our daughter! OK, you may be getting jealous by now! And no, I am not giving out their telephone number or telling you where they're located! I only work part time hours, but it's sure great to know that you're kids are in wonderful, capable, hands. My husband and I feel as though Renie, Adam & Hickory Dickory Daycare are our extended family, which is why on Mother's Day, as well as Provider Appreciation Day, we want to thank them for all of their hard work, and let them know how much they are truly appreciated. WE LOVE YOU!

A testimonial to Rita Bateman
My childcare provider is Rita Bateman. She's been doing daycare for 20+ years now and still loves every child as if they were her own. I was blessed when I had my daughter, Molly, and I knew the only way I could and would return to work was to have Rita watch her. I have an extra special connection to Rita, she's my mom. So not only are both of my kids being well cared for, but they also have the extra pleasure of their grandma (Me-Me) watching them. She has taught my kids so many things and I think it's because of her why my daughter is doing so well in Pre-school. Don't get me wrong, there is a dis-advantage to her watching them, after having them all week, she really doesn't want to have them hang out on the weekends, she calls that her time. And still don't trust just anyone watching my kids, so it makes going out with the husband hard. We all love her very much and wish her a wonderful day on Friday.

I first met Ms. Kimberly almost 4 years ago. I had been driving by her place on many occasions but never had reason to stop until I got my first child. He was 8 months old at the time and a handful. Ms. Kimberly worked with him and me from day one, things became manageable and then came his sister. Only positive words come to mind when I think of Ms. Kimberly as my child care provider. She is patient, kind, understanding, loving, giving, very creative and still has energy after a long day with 8 plus kids to be a wife, mother and softball coach. When your kids smile when they are arriving and cry when they are leaving speaks volumes for their provider. I truly appreciate her efforts and know I could not manage without her. She has truly been a blessing to me. And lets not forget Ms. Nita ( her sister-her assistant) with such a humble smile. Ladies, you are irreplaceable.

A testimonial to Childtime
I don't want to thank just one person at my childcare center. I must thank the entire staff. I have two children at Childtime in Fraser, Michigan. The staff is a great team and I truly appreciate them all. It's a great feeling to be able to go to work knowing that my children are in a safe, friendly enviroment where they are encouraged to learn and grow.

A testimonial to Suzanne Williamson
I would like to take this opportunity to express my undying gratitude to my childcare provider, Suzanne Williamson. Sue took care of my 2 sons, who were then 20 months and 3 years old, over 20 years ago.
I was delighted to find a place where I could publicly proclaim her excellence. She was truly the "mom" my children needed when I was working and unable to perform that task. She cared for them as if they were her own. The proof of that is that, yet today, our children (mine and Sue's) are like brothers and sisters and they love her as much as if she had been their mom.
Child care professionals are one of our most important and undervalued resources. They deserve our gratitude and support. And they are certainly worth a great deal more than they are currently being paid.
I owe the wonderful men that my sons are today, in a large part, to my childcare provider, Suzanne Williamson. We love you, Sue.

A testimonial to Debbie Colson McCarthy, Regional Infant Hearing Program
My childcare provider is Debbie Colson McCarthy, from the Regional Infant Hearing Program. Debbie has been working with my son Tommy for almost 2 years. She is wonderful. My son likes her very much. She has been with us through Tommy's cochlear implant surgery, and many of his audiology appointments. We have a lot going on in our life right now, and Debbie is there no matter what. She is a very sweet person, and she is someone that we can always count on no matter what. These past few weeks I don't know what I would have done without her. She is number one in our book. If Debbie gets to read this I would like her to know she's not only our childcare provider, but she is also my very, very good friend. If anyone would be more appreciated and deserve a gold medal it would be Debbie.

A testimonial to Jerice Goulet, Kids Only Child Day
My childcare provider is Jerice Goulet, for Kids Only Child Day Care in Saco, Maine. She is fantastic, and our children learn a great deal from her. My son loves her, and he is learning more at daycare than my nephew is learning at an advanced Preschool. And my son is only 4. He has another year to go before Kindergarten. Thank you.

A testimonial to Crystal Emerson, Lots of Smiles Daycare
I would like to just take a minute to recognize Crystal Emerson and Lots of Smiles Daycare.
Crystal has been taking care of my children for a year now and I can't say enough good things about her. My daughter was a year and a half old when she started with Crystal and my son has been going to her since he was 8 weeks old.
Crystal has, time and time again, gone above and beyond what she should. She has opened her home to the children and treats them as they were her own. At the end of the day, I have never heard her complain about her day. With all of the children she cares for, and all the ciaos that goes on in a day, I have come to the conclusion that she has a heart of gold! I have to say that I wouldn't dream of putting my children with anyone else.
At home, my daughter still talks about the things she did during the day and the fun that her and "auntie" had. So I would just like to thank her and her family for everything they do for me and for the other families they care for. It's so reassuring knowing that my children are in such loving hands when they can't be with me.

A testimonial to The Nurturing Nest
I am so happy to be able to brag about my sons' child care center. My eldest son graduated last year and my youngest son is in the toddlers room. The Nurturing Nest in Butler Township, OH is the best. They received 100% on their inspections and continue to do so each year. They are continually actively involved in what is best for the children and always re-evalualting what they can do better. I would not want my children anywhere else. I appreciate them every day!

A testimonial to Dani Jo Kline
I am so happy to see day care providers getting the recognition they deserve. I am very fortunate to have Dani Jo Kline as my daughter's provider and friend.
Dani Jo started watching our daughter, Karsyn, when she was about 2 1/2 years old, but Karsyn was not a typical 2 1/2 year old. She could not talk or walk and was a difficult child due to her frustrations with not being able to communicate or move about freely.
Although Dani Jo had done daycare for almost 15 years, she had recently moved to our area and Karsyn was her first and only child for many months. The relationship those two had was evident to everyone in our small community. Wherever Dani Jo went, Karsyn was by her side. Dani Jo treated her as if she was her own. Shopping days, swimming pools, local farms……wherever they wanted to go, they went.
This was amazing to me!
I often ran my errands during lunch hours for the simple fact that I did NOT want to have to take Karsyn. Since she was 2 1/2 years old and not walking, it was often difficult to have to carry her in and out of the vehicle. But Dani Jo did it. While her father and I were busy treating Karsyn as a "special" child, Dani Jo was treating her as a "normal" child.
Within a couple months of Dani Jo watching her, Karsyn began walking! Within 8 months she was doing some "baby babbling"! Karsyn had been in physical, speech and occupational therapy since she was 8 months old and definitely had made progress over the years, but nothing like the progress she made with Dani Jo. I truly believe that the individual love and attention Dani Jo provided was the turning point in her life. Since spending her days with DJ, Karsyn is an all around happier child.
Dani Jo's daycare (Joyful Noise) in Rudyard, MT has since grown and she now has a full house of kids in her home. I know she wouldn't want it any other way. Her love for "her" kids is spectacular. And I think the progress my daughter made, is a shining example of that. I will never be able to pay her enough or thank her enough for everything she has done and continues to do.

A testimonial to Starla Kern
Thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to show my appreciation for an excellent Child Care Provider. I am thrilled that a day has been set aside to honor these important people!!
I would like to show my appreciate for a special Child Care Provider by the name of Ms. Starla Kern. She is extremely special to my family in a very special way!! She currently lives and works in Detroit, MI, while my family lives in Ocala, FL. My husband went to high school with Starla. He feels that he has to thank his lucky stars that he knew Starla. Why? He had two children at a very early age. He feels that Starla made a major impact on both of his children's lives. She was there for those two children before they were even born. She became an even bigger impact after their birth. In my husband's words, "Starla is the reason my two children are alive today!"
My husband and I recently found out that we are expecting a baby girl. My husband did not hesitate to decide that he wanted Starla to be his daughter's Godmother. Since bestoying her with (in her own words) this "honor" she has gone out of her way to be the "best Godmother she can be!" She has purchased a variety of necessities for the baby, as well as getting together as many baby items as she can. Hopefully she will be able to visit us before the birth, but if she can't we look forward to a visit a couple of months after.
Starla is a very special person. We have begged her to move back to our area, so that we can use her service as a Child Care Provider. If you are in the Detroit area, understand that you have one of the best working there for you!!!

A testimonial to Ms. Fran, Fran's Loving Daycare
I would like to show appreciation to Ms. Fran of Fran's Loving Daycare located in Silver Spring, Maryland. My son Gregory Brooks III has attended daycare with her since March 31, 2004. We appreciate her efforts and time with our son. She displays good character, judgment and patience with him and the other kids along with education programs to enhance his growth. However; the greatest appreciation is the trust that I know my son is in good hands and that he is loved, protected and safe in her care. Thank you for the opportunity to say "Thanks" for a wonderful daycare provider.

A testimonial to Daisy and Joan (and their helpers), Expressions in Learning Day Care Facility
I would like to nominate Daisy and Joan (and their helpers) of Expressions in Learning Day Care Facility in Gastonia, NC. They have given our 8 month old son Christopher the best care possible since he was 6 weeks old. Like most new parents, we were concerned, nervous and a little petrified at having to leave our son in the care of someone else when I returned to work, but they made my transition back to work MUCH easier and did not mind (and still don't mind) my calling several times during the day to see how he is doing. They love each of the children as if they were there own and they do so much more for them than what is expected. They are always willing to answer any questions or concerns we may have. Not only do they always let us know when Christopher reaches a milestone, but they always get just as excited about it as we do. They take wonderful pictures of him during his time there so that we don't feel like we are completely missing out during the day. Our son loves being there and lights up with a big smile every morning when I drop him off. Thank you so much for everything you do. I don't know what we would have done without you.

A testimonial to Yolanda Tyler
First, thank you for having this forum to allow parents to speak out for something so important - Provider's Appreciation Day. I am thrilled that there is a day set up to honor great childcare providers such as Yolanda Tyler.
My 4-year-old son, Christian, has been with Yolanda since he was 6 weeks old. I had to return to my full-time job and I was so blessed that the Lord sent Yolanda to care for my child. I go to work everyday feeling confident that he will be loved, cared for, and safe while I'm away. My son is on a daily schedule, which I am required to maintain on the weekends otherwise he will tell on me. His schedule includes all sorts of activities that keep him very busy and I hear about all of them daily.
Yolanda truly cares for children and she strives for excellence in her field. She is presently working on achieving her National Accreditation through the National Association of Family Childcare and has received her Homes of Quality Award from the State Of Georgia. This assures me that childcare is her career instead of a quick way to make money.
My family has moved to a different county and Yolanda's Center is actually out of the way for my commute. But, it is very hard to find quality childcare and someone you can trust with your most cherished possessions so I drive the extra miles everyday.
Now I am expecting another child June 2004 and I am so glad that I already have a home away from home to leave my baby son. I am sure that Yolanda will be more than thrilled to provide her professional, loving, and caring service to my third son.
She is truly a blessing, friend, and great childcare provider.

A testimonial to Beth Carlton
In 2001, my husband and I moved our family from Madison, Wisconsin to Hutchinson, Kansas. Moves are tough, especially on moms. At that time, we had a 3 year old son and a 1 year old daughter. I did not want to have to go through the process to find another childcare provider. I prayed that God would provide one, and He most certainly did. Our children began going to Beth Carlton's house in September, 2001. We are so incredibly blessed to have her in our lives. She is so wonderful and amazing, patient, loving and kind to the kids. In July of 2002, we had another daughter, and were so grateful that Beth had room in her daycare for all three of our children. In September 2003, in honor of Beth's 2 years of caring for our children, I wrote her this poem from our children. I'm sure these words can be echoed by many children and parents. Now our children are 6, 4 and almost 2, and they absolutely love to go to Beth's house. Thanks Beth for your committment to children! You are the greatest and I am so grateful for you.
A Poem for Beth, Written September 4, 2003
Thank you... For wiping our tears
And always calming our fears For giving us a time-out
Instead of a really loud shout For making us yummy food to eat
The daily snacks are always a treat For moving when you were in the way
And letting us go outside to play For snuggling with us after our nap
And always letting us sit on your lap For cleaning up our spills
And providing days full of thrills For loving us as your own
And talking to us on the telephone For giving us a special touch
When we missed our mommy very much For wiping our stinky rears
And for all the fun these last two years! We love you Beth!

My name is Wilma J. Smith and I am Adm. Director of South Highland Child Dev. Ctr. in Birmingham, AL I think that Provider Appreciation Day is a wonderful way to acknowledge all caregivers everywhere. I especially would like to let everyone know today about the great staff that we have at SHCDC. We have been a nationally accredited program for over 17 yrs. Our teacher turnover ratio is low and our teachers are blessed with hearts as big as the world itself. They truly believe that our children are our future and we have to feed them constantly with information and love and caring toward one another. Our teachers provide warm interactions among our parents as well as our Children. Parent/teacher communication is part of the curriculum and is mandatory on a daily basics. Our teachers love and care for the children as if they are related to them and it is shown everyday. The staff of SHCDC encourage the development of each child's potential realizing that Each one is unique and different. We are the first Bham center to be nationally accredited by NAEYC. We are proud of our reputation and we continue to excel each and everyday. We have a staff of 20 full-time and a substitute teacher list of over 8. I work with each of these individuals and each one is unique in her own way. That's what makes this daycare so special. I am proud to know these women and proud to be a part of the staff of south highland child development center.

A testimonial to Naval Support Unit
The best providers in the world are the girls that work at the Naval Support Unit in Saratoga Springs, New York. These women watch children in age ranges from 6 week to 12 years. They provide care seven days a week, twenty-four hours a day. They serve the military population so that the men and women can serve their country knowing that their children are safe and well taken care of. They open up their homes and give so much of themselves to all of the children in our program. the extensive training that they have to go through and the inspections that are subjected to and that they out do all of my expectations on a daily basis, is a testament to how much they are dedicated to their profession. Many still find the time to better themselves by going to school and taking courses to grow and learn. All of these women are also spouses of active duty military members so what I find so amazing is that they will give up their own family time to watch children so parents can fulfill their duty, to me that says it all. So I would like to say THANK YOU to those women who put a smile on all of their children's faces daily, but also impress me everyday with their dedication, and commitment to quality childcare.

My name is Sharon Beaver and I believe I have one of the greatest staff. I am the Center Director for Dana Brown Cooper Head Start in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Each year I plan a day for Staff Appreciation Day, I let our parents know so they can bring their children's teacher a token of appreciation and I provide a luncheon for them. I have a wonderful provider. Her name is Tonya Beckham-Martin, her assistant is Yvette Slaughter, who happens to be completely deaf. Together they make "Tonya's Land of Little People" an exciting place for learning. I would like to send a personal recognition note to her. Both Tonya and Yvette have a knack for children. They service children from all backgrounds, even children with special needs. All the children use sign language and all have a special kind of family bond.

A testimonial to Elizabeth Ann and Lillian Marie, Ann-Marie's Day Care
We would like to nominate Elizabeth Ann and Lillian Marie of Ann-Marie's Day Care for Provider Appreciation Day. They are wonderful caregivers and have been a true blessing to our family. We have never had to think twice about Cannon when he is their car - we know he is in the best hands possible. Miss Lill and Miss Liz have cared for Cannon for nearly 2 1/2 years, and have gone the extra mile every single day. They have kept us involved at all times, informing us of milestones Cannon has reached, and maintained an unending enthusiasm for their work and children. Their energy, dedication, thoughtfulness and professionalism are to be commended. They treat all of her daycare children as their own, and have been a major influence on our young son's life.
The beginning of a child's life is so important, and their environment plays a key role from the very beginning. It molds them into who they will be, their personalities, their mentality, their IQ, their social skills. A wonderful daycare such as Ann-Maries is priceless, and we are thankful to have them in our lives.
Thank you Miss Lill and Miss Liz!

A testimonial to Katherine Brewton and her sister Grady
The best daycare provider in the world is in Lewis Center, Ohio.
Katherine Brewton and her sister Grady have been taking care of my son, Matthew for 4 years. Katherine has never missed a day. I have not once, in four years, have ever felt uncomfortable about leaving him there.
As an infant, when he cried, her or her husband, Thomas, would pick him up and walk with him. And if they were feeding another, Katherine's sister would walk with him.
He got the kind of undivided attention that, even if I stayed at home, I would be unable to provide. I remember sometimes when we arrived in the morning, Grady would say, "Praise Jesus that Matthew is here."
When he had a little cold, he was "babied." Since he has been there, there has never been a stain on any of his clothing and, if one happens to get on it, she washes it.
Everyday fresh fruit is provided and cut into little cubes. A menu is planned with fresh fruits and vegetables and nutritious snacks. I marvel at his meals - shrimp gumbo, casseroles - I could not do better at home.
And then there are the "lessons." Matthew has lesson time every day. Math, spelling, letter formation, matching games and interactive play are a daily occurrence. Two days a week are reserved for computer learning. My son's vocabulary is envied and it is because of this daycare.
When I get complemented at the grocery about how Matthew interacts with others, I just say, "It's because of his daycare." He is ready, at four years of age, for kindergarten.
And at Christmastime the children all get wonderful educational toys as gifts.
Most importantly, Matthew loves it there. He used to cry when it came time for me to pick him up. He always had a warm soft comfortable bed that was scrubbed and disinfected weekly, along with the toys. Thomas Brewton, Katherine's husband, is the comfortable "grandfather" for the children. Everyday, weather permitting, he would take a walk with them to see the "big diggers" in the neighborhood and describe and talk to them about it. Not only do they get their exercise, but they learn so much about their environment. Then Thomas sometimes sits with them on the swing in the summer and watches them play in the sandbox. Everyday, he reads books to them.
He "modified" the house for children by building special low handrails on the walls leading downstairs and finishing the basement into a wonderful playroom.
Grady and Katherine have incredible patience. Not once, have they raised their voices. They assertively correct but still allow the children to have independence. Matthew loves to be able to "make his own snack" sometimes when they hand him the food.
The beginning of our child's lives is so important. It molds them into who they will be, their personalities, their mentality, their IQ, their social skills. Sure, some of it is genetics but so much of it is their environment. A wonderful daycare is priceless, and I am so thrilled to have my son in the best there is.

A testimonial to Bertha
I would just like Bertha to know how much we appreciate her. She has been one of the most influential people who have touched our 2 1/2 year old daughters life.
Bertha has cared for Jenna since she was 6 months old. Jenna loves Bertha so much and so do we. Bertha's energy, dedication, thoughtfulness and professionalism are to be commended. She treats all of her daycare children as one of her own.
The children are treated equally, learn manners and respect, have great enthusiasm for reading, arts, crafts, play-time, and music. They have been introduced to the computer and the performing arts. The parents get the great pleasure of viewing seasonal plays, performances and achievements that the children have worked so hard at.
Bertha goes the extra mile every single day. She involves the parents at all times, keeps us informed of milestones the children reach, and maintains an unending enthusiasm for her work and children. Congratulations Bertha - in my mind you are "Provider of the Year."

A testimonial to Ava
I am so glad that I came across this website and found that there has been a day for recognition of all daycare providers! I am so proud to celebrate this day with my wonderful daycare provider, she deserves this day, everyday.
Ava has been watching my two children for a little over 3 years now, since the time they were 2 months old. I can drop them off everyday and not have to worry about them until the time I pick them up. They are under such wonderful care. Ava has been blessed with a lot of patience and love for taking care of children, she treats each one like they were her own.
My children adore Ava so much that they would love to be with her all the time. On weekends my daughter says, "I miss my Ava, is it Monday yet?" that makes me feel really good and comfortable.
I just want to say that I am very thankful and blessed to have her in our lives. Thank you Ava for all of your hard work! We love you!

A testimonial to Brenda Ives
We appreciate Brenda Ives! When we searched for child care for Madeline when she was only 3 months old we had all the trepidation, concerns and fears that all parents placing their children in child care experience. Fortunately for us and Madeline, we found Brenda Ives. Brenda, a professional child care provider for over 20 years, not only gave Madeline comfort, but comforted us as well. In the more than 2 years that has passed since she began assisting us in caring for Madeline, we have learned from her, gone to her for advice, deferred to her and adopted her as not only our care provider but our family. She uses the time she has with Madeline to instruct, nurture, and love our little girl. We never have a moment's concern and believe that a lot of the time, Brenda handles her better than we do. We are expecting another baby in the fall and already have Brenda's commitment to add the baby to the Ives family as well and we are all blessed.

A testimonial to Miss Erica, Cowlicks and Pigtails
Hi, my name is Tiffani Griffith and I wanted to write a testimonial about my daycare provider in honor of Provider Appreciation Day! Miss Erica is truly a blessing. She is one of the most thoughtful, honest and caring people I know and I am blessed to have her caring for my two children. She loves each and every child as if they were her own. She takes daycare to the next level and makes you feel like the children are part of her extended family. My children will always stay in touch with Miss Erica even after their time is up at Cowlicks and Pigtails! It is more than just a job for Miss Erica, it is her life and it shows! I would like to honor her on this special day!

A testimonial to Chesterbrook Academy
When my daughter was born, I had a very difficult time realizing that I needed to return to work after my maternity leave. I was feeling very guilty because I didn't want to leave her with anyone else! I tried a daycare that a friend went to, but I did not feel comfortable at that facility so I pulled her out immediately. Then I found Chesterbrook Academy in Bristow, VA. Everyone welcomed us there from the initial visit to now, I am so comfortable with each of her teachers and her two principals! I can not express how happy I am with the care that these ladies give my daughter (and to my husband and I too). I would like to show my appreciation to all the ladies in the infant room - Shannon, Shannon, Vidya, Manjule, Pam and Janet!

A testimonial to Marjie Yaritz
Thank you for creating this very special day. I can't think of a group of people that deserve more recognition and thanks, especially my son's provider, Marjie Yaritz. I started looking for day care when my son Jake was only two weeks old. Most providers never returned my messages. I almost gave up calling but decided to make one last call - and I'm so glad I did. I called Marjie and we instantly clicked. I knew right then she was the woman that I wanted my son to be with, if I couldn't be.
Jake has been in Marjie's care for 16 months and I thank God every day that we found her. She provides Jake with love, understanding, learning opportunities and most importantly days full of fun. I never have to think twice about Jake when he is with Marjie - I know he is in the best hands possible - next to his dad's and mine.
She's truly a blessing from heaven. Our family couldn't be where we are today without her!

A testimonial to Cheryl Reece
I am a childcare provider in Milwaukie, Oregon. I wanted to write to thank my best friend and mentor, Cheryl Reece for all the great advice, direction, ideas, and most of all, her support of me and my business. I don't feel I would be loving my job and succeeding as I am today if it wasn't for her example. Happy Provider Appreciation Day, Cheryl!

A testimonial to Debbie Johnson
Please nominate Debbie Johnson for Provider Appreciation Day. She is a wonderful caregiver. My daughter is 10 months old, and the hardest thing I ever had to do is leave her at daycare. When I leave her with Debbie I know she is going to be cared for like one of her own, she really does love all of "her" kids. It is obvious when you enter her home that she does daycare for her love of children. She has been a true blessing to our family. Thank you.

As a parent and child care provider, I applaud the work you are doing. It is fantastic that someone has finally created an appreciation day for the child care providers.

A testimonial to Kim Poore
Kim Poore is not only a child care provider - she's a "second mom" to our children and a family friend. My daughter has been with Kim's daycare since day one - about four years ago. My son has also been there since he was two months old. With my husband and I both being police officers, there are added stresses and problems that arise with our children. With 9/11, the Snipers (in DC area), and the War in Iraq, my husband and I worked extended hours and had little notice of schedule changes. This was very difficult for us, but more importantly for our children. Kim was there to help us and our children in every way that she could. Whether it meant fixing an unexpected dinner, helping with homework, or talking with our children about their concerns, she was always there for us. In fact, our kids can frequently be heard saying "Miss Kim, I Love You." We are so glad to see that your organization saw the need to recognize such wonderful people. Miss Kim is the glue that holds our family together. We think she should be Daycare Provider of the Year. Thanks.

A testimonial to Southern Heights Daycare
I just wanted to recognize my daughter's daycare providers, Southern Heights Daycare in Anderson Indiana. We recently moved from another state and had our daughter in a different daycare when we moved here. It was awful. I pulled her out and called Southern Heights who had us come in and see the place. Walking in the door I started to cry, I knew this was the place for Casey. They are so caring like these are their own children. My daughter Casey does not like to leave at night, and looks forward to going every day. When she walks in, she runs to her teacher for hugs who is there smiling with open arms. I know I found the best care for my daughter. Southern Heights Daycare found the best people to work with them. Thank you so much for caring for my daughter, you have no idea what it means to me.

A testimonial to Elvia Martinez
Our family is very appreciative of our day care provider, Elvia Martinez. Elvia has been caring for our 15 month old son, Jiahrus, since he was only 3 months old. Which at that time I returned to my full time job. I worried while searching for the perfect provider. Leaving my son at such an early age made me feel guilty, because I stayed home a year with my daughter when she was born, before returning to work. Needless to say everything worked out fine! Elvia is not only his babysitter, she is also his teacher and cares for him in a motherly way. Elvia is always caring and considerate. She has cared for children and for several years and has excellent experience in this field. She has also cared for elderly adults. Elvia is a very patient woman, which is one of the biggest factors when it comes to caring for small children. Everyone in our family has allergies, including our son, this triggers asthma. Elvia knows exactly what to do when our baby is having trouble breathing and knows when our son needs to use the breathing machine. I am grateful to have found such a wonderful provider with all this experience. We love her and often let her know how much we really appreciate her. It's not easy to find someone you can trust with your most cherished possession. When providers care for children they show children how to care for others. My son loves her and her family. At times when I arrive at their home to pick him up, and Mr. Martinez is home, I often have to pry his little arms off of Mr. Martinez. They are a great family. My husband and I couldn't have picked a better family to care for our son. Thank you.

I think it is a great idea to recognize caregiver efforts and dedication. My PTA parents bought lunch for us and we did a picnic while the parents took care of the children at nap-time, guess what!! When we came back they said that we need to do this every month, and they realized that not for a million dollars could they do this job.

A testimonial to Carrie Parker
My family and I would like to nominate Carrie Parker of St. Petersburg, Florida, as the most outstanding childcare worker. There isn't a day that goes by that we don't realize how lucky we are to have Carrie as our son's daycare provider.
First, let me tell you about our son, Tyler Arnold. Tyler will be three on September 24, 2003. At the age of eighteen months, we almost lost our son to juvenile diabetes. We were extremely lucky at them time we found out that Tyler had diabetes; because my husband watched Tyler during the day, while I worked. We were still learning about how to care for our son. We wouldn't have been able to send him off to someone else to watch during that time. When Tyler was getting close to the age of two, my husband and I realized it was time for him to go back to work. You can imagine how scared we were about finding someone that could take care of our son the way we felt he deserved. We knew that Tyler required extra care and attention. There are signs that will let you know if his sugar is too high or too low. His provider would need to know what those signs are and not write them off as him having a temper tantrum. They would also need to learn about his diabetes. Everyday is new and changing and so this person would need to care about our son and learn each day, as we do.
After over thirty phone interviews and five face-to-face interviews, the moment we met Carrie, we knew immediately that she was the right one for Tyler. She's kind, gentle, carrying, cautious, loving, fun, and generous. Carrie takes Tyler's blood sugar at least once or twice a day, depending on his needs that day. She'll call us anytime Tyler's blood sugar number is too high or too low. We talk about the best solution to get his number normalized. She was willing to learn how to give Tyler insulin, and has given it to him many times in the past eight months. She understood that his diet was out of the norm for her other kids and was willing to learn about what foods Tyler needed and make sure that he got those throughout the day. If Tyler's blood sugar gets too low, he'll start screaming and shaking as his body gets closer and closer to having a seizure. This has happen at home and in Carrie's care. It is especially difficult to remain calm, get a quick sugar in Tyler's system all while convincing this two year old that all he needs to do is drink the sugar and he'll be fine. It can be extremely stressful and difficult to manage these situations.
It is very important to understand at this point just how difficult it is to care for a child Tyler's age, with diabetes. It has been mine and my husband's biggest struggle this past year. It's not about the difficulty and time maintenance, it's about wanting the absolute best for your child and not knowing from day to day, what that might be. Today, Tyler might need an extra fast acting unit of insulin, but tomorrow with the same exact blood sugar number, the fast acting insulin could be too much. There is no book that tells us what to do. We've had to learn ourselves, with a little help from Tyler's doctors. With that said, hopefully this letter will express how Carrie helps us everyday. She gives us the information we need to help us figure out from every moment of the day, what was good and bad about how much insulin he received or how much food he did or didn't eat. She not only administers blood sugar tests and gives Tyler insulin when it's needed or the extra food that Tyler needs, but she CARES about our son and treats him with the love that we see her treat her own daughter with.
Tyler's food is even more management. He sometimes doesn't want to eat, but you have to understand that if he doesn't eat, he could go hypoglycemic and have a seizure. If he eats too much, without extra water, he could go hyperglycemic, which severe cases can send a person into a comma. Carrie spends the time Tyler needs watching what he eats and making sure that he doesn't get too much sugar or not enough carbohydrates and sugar.
Everyday we get a report card from Carrie to tell us about Tyler's day. We know what he ate and how much he ate. We know what time he took a nap and how long it was. We know when he had bowel movements, what his blood sugar number(s) were that day and what activities he enjoyed that day. She also lists any special, interesting or funny things Tyler did that day.
Tyler comes home with new pictures daily or things that he made during project time at school. Tyler loves reading and singing time with Carrie. I know that his time spent with her is filled with learning new things everyday.
I will end this letter to you stating that any week of the year, I spend at least ten hours working overtime for my job. When I'm home, I spend every minute with my son and husband, so I don't have a lot of time for extra things. My husband and I so wanted the world to know about Carrie, as she is so deserving of this nomination.

A testimonial to Childtime
I have two children at Childtime. My son who is 3 and my daughter who is 4. They are in different classrooms. Mrs. Lynne is my sons childcare provider most of the day. He adores her, at 3 years of age he has self proclaimed Mrs. Lynne his adopted grandmother. She is the best and I appreciate everything she does for my son. Mrs. Beth is my daughters teacher. Her encouragement and patience is amazing. Josie too loves her teacher. As much as I adore these two ladies, I must give credit to everyone at Childtime. It is a great daycare center and I would recommend it to anyone ten times over.
